During the last two months we were hardly working on acquiring modern machinery in order to expand our current “Healthcare” collection. With a total investment of more than USD $100.000 among 3 modules of modern machinery and raw material to manufacture up to 1.000.000 facemasks during the first month (a capacity we will keep on a monthly basis) TEXMAN is now active on the disposable facemasks market in order to attend from common people who look for extra protection, up to medical staff who are required by sanitary rules to wear this type of facemasks during their daily duties.
Using a disposable facemask is highly recommended by local sanitary entities such as Ministry of Health rather than using those reusable ones, mainly because when washing the latter, major risks may emerge in terms of microbial and viral presence, according to the World Health Organization. Generally speaking, it is quite uncertain which materials are used to manufacture this type of facemasks and whether or not they come with an internal filter, at least when people buy them at random stores or on the streets, which usually happens. The WHO emphasizes that not all of these types of facemasks have the same level of filtration quality, one of the most relevant features anyone should take into consideration [1].
In comparison, a disposable surgical facemask is always in the look of local health regulatory entities in order to guarantee high quality protection mainly to medical staff. In Colombia, INVIMA is the local entity that oversees how local producers actually manufacture these products ensuring they are produced in clean and sanitary facilities, made of adequate materials (mainly non-woven fabrics and “meltblown” filter), they are sealed using ultrasound technology and correctly packed for end users usage.
TEXMAN’s disposable surgical facemasks are certified by INVIMA and comply with the NTC 1733 Hygiene and security – Respiratory protective devices, which establishes local requirements and tests to be complied by any protective facial mask. They are composed of two layers of non-woven SS PP 25GSM fabrics and an internal mid layer of MeltBlown 25 GSM filter, fully adhered by ultrasound sealing. Its structure ensures complete protection avoiding possible filtration of external particles, micro-drops or other contaminating harmful agents for human beings. Also good to know is that the filter is verified under the NaCl test with a defined flux of 31.8 L/min/100cm2, and a resistance of 11.5Pa, BFE 99%+, PFE99%+.
We pack them in dispenser boxes of 50 units; every single facemask is also packed in individual plastic bags for extra protection. Prices are defined according to quantities to be purchased.
